The oil company had already signed, on 20 May, a cooperation protocol with the National Institute of Employment and Professional Training (INEFOP), with a view to the development of professional training in the fields of the oil and complementary sectors.
This agreement aimed at the standardization of curricular plans in the area of petroleum, homologation of certificates, technical training and the transfer of trainers through the National Training Center for Trainers (CENFFOR).
It is recalled that the center was inoperative for two years, taking into account the lack of demand, aggravated by the covid-19 pandemic. Initially, the infrastructure had been designed to provide undergraduate and postgraduate maritime courses, however, the center has now been restructured to become more comprehensive in the sector.
"We developed four training offers, of which 'Production', 'Exploration', 'Technical Training' and 'Professional Training', among other training related to the oil sector in a more comprehensive way. Before, only maritime techniques were developed", explained Wiky Tabita , director general of the center.
Cited by Angop, the official said that the center is open to companies and individuals, and training prices (on working days) vary between 40 thousand and 700 thousand kwanzas.
The Maritime Training Center of Angola is a company of the Sonangol group dedicated to the training business for the industry, with facilities in the provinces of Luanda, in the municipality of Cacuaco, and in Cuanza Sul, in the municipality of Sumbe.
This is the largest center in the country dedicated exclusively to training in Maritime safety, Oil & Gas, technical and professional training, management and soft skills, with courses accredited and approved by national and international institutions, and, for this year, it foresees the launch of more than 8000 trainees in the oil and gas sector.
