President arrives in New York and meets with UN Secretary-General

The President, João Lourenço, arrived this Tuesday in New York, where he has already had a meeting with the Secretary-General of the United Nations (UN), António Guterres.


According to a note from the Presidency, the head of state also worked with the US ambassador to the UN, Linda Thomas-Greenfield.

The United Nations Security Council meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, with an assessment of the security situation in the Central African Republic (CAR) at its core.

The note highlights that João Lourenço, as president of the International Conference of the Great Lakes Region (ICGLR) will be the main speaker.
