The road is made up of a total of 11 kilometers. However, 4.2 kilometers have already started to be the target of intervention, leaving 6.8 kilometers to be rehabilitated.
According to Expansão, for the rehabilitation of the 4.2 kilometers of the section, the state has already paid the construction company MCA 1.2 billion kwanzas. The work started in July last year, but the lack of payments led to the suspension of the project.
However, the expenses of the public treasury with this road do not stop there. To advance with the construction of the remaining 6.8 kilometers the State will have to disburse 36.333 billion kwanzas.
The construction of more than six kilometers is estimated to cost 35.182 billion kwanzas. To this amount is also added the amount for supervision, a total of 1.151 billion kwanzas, which, all told, makes a total of 36.333 billion kwanzas, Expansão wrote.
Thus, each kilometer that remains to be built will cost 5.343 billion kwanzas.
In order to move ahead with construction of the 6.8 kilometers, Presidential Order 91/21, of 11 June, was published in the Diário da República (Official Gazette), which states that funding for the end of the project is provided for in the Municipalities' Integrated Intervention Plan.
According to the document, cited by Expansão, the President gave the green light for the expenditure of 35.2 billion kwanzas and made official the opening of simplified contracting for the award of contracts for construction and supervision of the project.
