The 31-year-old striker started out as a professional player in 2006 by wearing the jersey of Santo André, a Brazilian team. In Brazil, Maikon Leite also played for Santos, Atletico Paranaense, Palmeiras - where he scored a total of 13 goals in 90 games - and Nautico.
In 2014, he made his debut abroad when he signed a contract with Atlas, a Mexican club. After a season out, Maikon Leite returned to Brazil having played for Sport Club do Recife.
Maikon Leite was also in the UAE club Al-Shaab, and the Mexican club Deportivo Toluca Futbol Club.
In 2017, the striker returned to Brazil having played for Bahia, Ceará, Figueirense, Brasiliense and Amazonas FC - where he completed the last season.
Last season, with the jersey of Amazonas FC, the striker scored three goals in six games.
