"The challenges are enormous, we will have to attract new investments, bring order to the sector and thus we will be able to work and improve the investment climate in the country. There are laws and, as we swear here, we will respect the laws and enforce them", he said this Monday in statements to journalists.

Jacinto Rocha was sworn in this Monday by the Minister of Mineral Resources, Oil and Gas, Diamantino Pedro Azevedo, along with the four executive directors of the new public institute.

According to the official, who was speaking at the end of the ceremony that took place at the headquarters of the National Diamond Company of Angola (Endiama), in Luanda, the body's bet will not be directed only to an ore, "but to all that the country has.

"Angola is a country rich in mineral resources and we are not going to choose any specific one, because we are going to do everything we have", he assured.

With a vast experience of training and activity in South Africa, the president of ANRM expressed confidence in attracting investments from South African, Canadian, Australian, American and English companies to Angola.

"All the company that is in the mining sector we will try to attract to Angola," he noted.

The Angolan National Agency for Mineral Resources will have as its mission the regulation of the mining sector, a function previously carried out by Endiama, exercising its attributions on mineral resources in the national territory, with the exception of hydrocarbons.

For Jacinto Rocha, Endiama, which ceases to be the national concessionaire, from now on should function "as a key to facilitate the opening of the sector.
