In the note, Trudeau also expressed solidarity with João Lourenço and the Angolan people due to the pandemic, at a time when “they are taking the necessary measures to contain the covid-19 and respond to its impacts.
“Covid-19 is a rapidly evolving global challenge. The Government of Canada is working closely with local, provincial, territorial and international partners to minimize the economic, social and health impact in Canada and around the world, ”says the statement.
According to the Canadian Foreign Ministry website, both countries have had diplomatic relations since 1978.
The covid-19 pandemic has already claimed more than 438,000 deaths and infected more than eight million people in 196 countries and territories, according to a report by the French agency AFP.
