Sílvia Lutucuta: “Whoever bores the sanitary fence goes to jail”

The Minister of Health appealed to the conscience of the citizens to respect the sanitary fences imposed by the authorities to prevent the spread of the covid-19 and warned that the offenders will be severely punished.

:

“We have appealed to Angolans to comply with the measures of the state of calamity, as well as sanitary measures, but there are problems of awareness of the dimension of the problem we are facing. This is the only way to understand that people, lightly, pierce the fences without knowing that they are putting themselves and other people at risk, ”said Sílvia Lutucuta, at a press conference in Luanda.

Last week, the country announced the first cases of covid-19 infection outside Luanda, in the province of Cuanza Norte, due to breach of the sanitary fence.

“We are not going to say that there is vulnerability in the fence. We have borders between the provinces, we have pathways [trails]. It depends on the person's conscience, the person has to realize that he does not have to drill the sanitary fence and he has to know well the measures that are taken against those who pierce the fence ”, highlighted the minister, adding that the citizens' conscience is what dictates , in part, the vulnerability.

"Whoever breaches the sanitary fence will be severely punished, people are already being arrested, they are being summarily judged", warned the minister, stressing that "no one will go unpunished".

Responding to journalists' questions, the minister positively evaluated the work of the World Health Organization (WHO), which has “supported all countries” and has been “doing its best”, despite being “taken by surprise” .

“WHO was not left out of the difficulties and challenges that we have to face (…), but they are doing their best”, he stressed, considering that the organization had an “attitude of humility” and recognized that the guidelines (…) must always be assessed in the context of each country.
