Cuanza Norte assembles sanitary cords and transfers positive patients to Luanda

An area of the Sambizanga neighborhood and Rua dos Índios - on the outskirts and in the urban center of the city of Ndalatando - now have a sanitary fence set up by the provincial authorities of Cuanza Norte. The three citizens of the province who tested positive for covid-19 this Monday were transferred to Luanda.

The sanitary fence surrounds a place where these individuals - one Angolan and two West Africans - performed their profession, linked to the commercial area.

According to Leonor Garibaldi, deputy governor for the Political, Social and Economic sector of Cuanza Norte, local authorities are committed to creating strategies to contain the virus in the region.

The official explained that the infected citizens contracted the virus after violating the sanitary fence imposed on the province of Luanda. When this transposition of the fence was detected, the three men were placed in home quarantine in Ndalatando, which allowed the collection of samples for testing even last week and the confirmation of positive results earlier this week.

The patients were transferred this Wednesday, at the beginning of the night, to Luanda, where they will be accompanied by specialists from the Ministry of Health. They will be confined in Cazenga. According to Angop, work is underway to locate possible patient contacts that should also be tested.

The deputy governor appealed to the citizens' calm and responsibility, in order to prevent the spread of the disease. He highlighted the importance of reinforcing safety measures such as hand washing, the use of a mask and disinfection with gel alcohol.
