Covid-19: Angola registers three new cases and rises to 91 total infected

This Sunday, the country registered three new infected with covid-19, all of which were locally transmitted, making a total of 91 positive cases, of which four died and 24 recovered, informed the health authorities.

According to the Secretary of State for Public Health, Franco Mufinda, two of the three new cases are related to an active case, aged 13 and 59, from the municipality of Sambizanga, while the third case, aged 33, is also a contact of a of the active cases, which is still being treated, from the municipality of Kilamba Kiaxi.

"The three cases are already undergoing clinical follow-up at one of our treatment centers," said the minister, stressing that everyone was observing the institutional quarantine.

Franco Mufinda informed that with the new infections, the local transmission passes to 62 cases.

The covid-19 pandemic has already claimed more than 400,000 deaths and infected more than 6.9 million people in 196 countries and territories, according to the balance made by the French agency AFP.

The disease is transmitted by a new coronavirus detected in late December 2019 in Wuhan, a city in central China.

After Europe succeeded China as the center of the pandemic in February, the American continent became the one with the most confirmed cases, although with fewer deaths.
