Luandas beaches and seas to be cleaned in the second half

Speaking to the press, the president of the agency's Board of Directors, Monteiro Lumbo, said that the agency has been developing actions to protect the environment and maritime life.

ANR has private partnerships with a group of companies, with the United Nations Development Program and with ISPTEC.

"In the second half of this year, work to clean up Luanda's beaches and seas begins, in a pilot experiment (in Luanda) that is being sponsored by other entities. It implies that the Angolan State, in principle, will not spend anything to that this is possible, after a memorandum signed with the partner companies ", he said, quoted by O País.

The official also said that negotiations were carried out with a marine cleaning operator, who will support the cleaning of Luanda's beaches and mothers, this being a pilot experience.

The most visible concerns are plastic bags, oil and hydrocarbons.
