After a three-month break, due to the situation of the covid-19 pandemic, the court resumed this Tuesday for the oral allegations the trial in which the director of the BNA's reserve management department, António Bule Manuel, is also accused, and Angolan businessman Jorge Gaudens Sebastião.
The final allegations of the trial, which started on December 9, 2019, about the alleged improper transfer of 500 million dollars from the BNA abroad, were initially scheduled for March 25.
Defendants Valter Filipe and António Bule are accused of crimes of embezzlement, fraud for defrauding and money laundering, while José Filomeno dos Santos, former president of the Sovereign Fund of Angola, and Jorge Gaudens Sebastião, are responsible for crimes of influence trafficking, money laundering of capital and fraud for defrauding.
The case, which dates back to 2017, concerns an alleged illegal transfer of 500 million dickers from the BNA to an account at Credit Suisse in London, England, money that would be a kind of advanced payment that would culminate in more financing for Angola than 30 billion dollars.
