45 years of National Independence anthem to be sung by 20 musicians

The anthem created to mark the 45th anniversary of National Independence, which will be celebrated on 11 November, will be sung by 20 Angolan musicians.

Among the 20 names chosen to give voice to the hymn are Eva Rap Diva, Anna Joyce, Yola Araújo, Calabeto, Filipe Mukenga, Patrícia Faia, Bessa Teixeira, Gabriel Tchiema and Socorro.

The music is the responsibility of Karga Eventos, after it won the contest that had as objective to choose the responsible to create the hymn and the videoclip.

According to the company's director, the musician Big Nelo, who was speaking at the end of a meeting of the interministerial commission led by the Minister of State and Head of the Civil House of the President of the Republic, Adão de Almeida, quoted by Angop, the anthem will be released later this week and talks about patriotism. However, the video clip will only see the light of day in July, since the recordings were delayed due to covid-19.

At the end of the meeting the commemorative programme for 11 November was also revealed. According to the Minister of Territory Administration, Marcy Lopes, the celebrations will take place at the Praça da República in Luanda.

The ceremony will be attended by about 2000 people. "The initial program was to bring together 16,000 people, two parades - one military and one civilian - ecumenical worship and a musical show, events that were suppressed and will be readapted to the current moment," explained Marcy Lopes.

On that day, in addition to the word of the President of the Republic, the Monument Flag will also be raised and a wreath placed on the tomb of the Unknown Soldier.
