Between 1 and 4 May, the province received more than 3,000 tourists, generating revenues of over 170 million kwanzas, according to the Ministry of Tourism.
Also according to the tourism office, the accommodation sector alone generated revenues of 112 million kwanzas, accommodating 3,750 visitors.
The restaurant industry served around 1,740 customers, with a consumption of around 42.5 million kwanzas.
One of the tourist attractions that stood out during the period was the Iona National Park, which received 3,640 visitors and generated 1.8 million kwanzas.
With a vast local tourist offer, largely guaranteed by the climate and the desert landscape next to the sea, Namibe stands out for points such as Praia das Miragens, Welwitschias, Colinas do Curoca, Arco do Tômbwa, Dunas do Deserto and Praia do Piambo.
The long weekend was also favorable for tourism agencies, guides, car rental and transfers, says the administration.
