Government cuts scholarships abroad due to lack of money

The Government announced this Wednesday that “for financial reasons” it will not publish this year the notice for accepting applications for scholarships for universities outside the country.

:

The announcement, made by the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Technology and Innovation in a statement, highlights, however, that candidates admitted in previous editions of the "Program for the Annual Sending of 300 Bachelors/Masters to the Best Universities in the World" will continue to benefit of the scholarships awarded to them.

In the note, which highlights that the training of national staff "remains an extremely important concern for the Angolan Executive", the Ministry guarantees that in 2024 it will "undertake actions with a view to establishing Agreements and Partnerships with foreign countries and institutions".

The Ministry adds that it will seek to establish agreements and partnerships with institutions that guarantee "high standard higher education in areas considered priorities for national development and with controlled financial costs".

"The teaching and non-teaching staff of public higher education institutions and young people in general who aspire to raise their levels of knowledge to the level of master's, medical specialization and doctorate, will be the beneficiaries of these cooperation agreements", he emphasizes.
