This month, Luanda hosts the first edition of the ‘Musclecontest’, whose initiative aims to place the country on a “credible stage” for international bodybuilding and “open investment possibilities”.

Organized by Angolan Ricardo Buta and Brazilian businessman Tamer El Guindy, the first edition of 'Musclecontest' – which concerns "a concept focused on promoting world-class bodybuilding events" – will take place on the 11th of this month, at the Centro de Conferência de Belas (CCB), in the capital.

According to a statement sent to VerAngola, there are already some confirmed presences for the event. This is the case of the current CEO of Musclecontest and vice-president of the UFC, Tamer El Guindy, and the director of Musclecontest and businessman, Emerson Alberto. The attendance list, advances the document, also includes the names of Renato Cariani (considered one of the biggest fitness influencers in Brazil), Júlio Balestrin (Brazilian athlete and currently one of the best trainers in Brazil), as well as the directors of Brazilian brands such as Max Titanium, Integralmedica, FTW and Growth.

This initiative, refers the statement, not only makes the country "a credible stage for international bodybuilding, but also opens up possibilities for investment and growth" in the country, in the bodybuilding, health and bodybuilding industry, coming at a time when the National bodybuilding "is gaining ground in the country and on international stages".

According to the promoters, the implementation of this initiative will open doors "for Angolan athletes abroad, in addition to helping to transform the national scenario, in order to make it attractive for foreign businesspeople and athletes to come and compete in Angola".

After acquiring Musclecontest in 2017, the E-Guindy brothers "turned it into the largest company promoting bodybuilding events in the world, with presentations in the United States, Brazil, Japan, Ireland, Vietnam, the Philippines", among many other countries, totaling more than 310 events around the world.

Now, "for the first time in its history", the company will promote the 'Musclecontest' in Angola, in collaboration with Ricardo Buta. This event will have the guidance of the CEO of Musclecontest International, Tamer El Guindy, and the co-guidance of the main promoters of some of the biggest shows, Mr. Olympia and Arnold Classic South America, in which Angolan Sinia Teresa has already participated, says the note.
