Colloquium “Pelos Caminhos da História - Do Indigenato à Cidadania”

The Colloquium "Pelos Caminhos da História - Do Indigenato à Cidadania" will take place on May 24th.

The meeting starts at 9:00 am, at Memorial Dr. António Agostinho Neto.

The colloquium, which will be opened by the vice-governor of the Province of Luanda for the Political and Social Sector, Manuel Gonçalves, will address topics such as "Angola: Peoples and Cultures. Its Relations with Portugal - From Cooperation to Occupation"; "The Press and the Birth of Modern Angolan Nationalism"; "The Indigenous People in the Portuguese Colonies and Particularly in Angola"; "The Assimilation Policy and Lusotropicalism in the Colonial System and its Effects in Angola"; "The Functioning of Traditional Power in the Colonial System. Resistances, Alliances and Limits of Traditional Power" and "From the Liberation Struggle to the Proclamation of Independence".

Speakers on the various topics include Nsambu Vicente, Albino Carlos, Palmira Tjipilica, Maria da Conceição Neto, Petelo Ne-Tava and Mário Pinto de Andrade.

Benjamim Fernando will be the moderator.
