The announcement was made by David Kinjica, director of the Legal and Exchange Office of the Ministry of Public Administration, Labor and Social Security, who revealed that, soon, all retired people who are included in the Community of Portuguese Speaking Countries (CPLP) will be able to receive your pension in any CPLP country.

Regarding the agreement – to be established this Thursday, in the Declaration of Benguela, and which aims at the multilateral convention on Social Security, enabling workers from Member States of the community to be able to receive their pensions in the CPLP countries –, the responsible pointed out that there were no opportunities to carry it out before, due to complex reasons.

Speaking within the framework of the XV Meeting of CPLP Ministers of Labor and Social Affairs, the official, quoted by Jornal de Angola, explained that, since 2003, two decades have passed and several situations have been overcome, mainly with regard to administrative rules, exchange rate stability and the modernization of the National Social Security Institute, which represented obstacles on the part of the country.

"Another topic that is also much debated has to do with the multilateral convention on Social Security, which is now being discussed. The non-ratification by the various member states, within which Angola, which has not ratified it yet, we justify ourselves and it was adopted here also a common strategy on how we should make this ratification a fact, but more than that its implementation, since the Angolan community in Portugal is very large, the Portuguese community in Angola is also very large and in Brazil, Cape Verde, therefore, it is necessary that the mobility that the member states defend is also increased by rights linked to work, such as the provision of Social Security", he said.

Another of the topics highlighted at the meeting concerns the opening of the International Labor Organization (ILO) office in Angola, with a view to "serving the PALOP's [Portuguese-speaking African Countries]".

"The opening of this office is scheduled for Luanda and represents an important point for the nine countries, because we have had many difficulties with access to documents and information, as well as obtaining technical and financial support from the ILO, taking into account that the Member States pay quotas and must also have some benefit", he said, quoted by Jornal de Angola.

Regarding the said office, David Kinjica considered that its opening will also allow the inclusion of national staff in international organizations, as well as offering training opportunities, consisting of a diplomatic gain, which is why the member states are open to supporting Angola. in this respect, however, it is a decision dependent on the ILO, writes Jornal de Angola.

The meeting also includes on the agenda the debate on the action plan to combat child labour, whose country "is already implementing its own", as well as "the issue of the status of the action plan on safety matters, health and hygiene at work".

The meeting started on the 16th of May and will run until the 18th of May, in the province of Benguela, with the theme "For Social Justice and Decent Work for All".
