The son of (re)known basketball player Jean Jacques will be at the Barclay Center, in Brooklyn, New York (USA), and may be chosen to represent a team that plays in the NBA.
It is recalled that the player, who was recently champion of his conference tournament, while representing Chattanooga Mocs Basketball, College of NCAA D1, was announced a member of Edge Sports, a marketing and career management company.
In this way, Sílvio de Sousa leaves behind the 'amateur' status - necessary to compete in the NCAA - and confirms his presence in the 2022 draft.
The draft is an annual event in which 30 teams that line up in the National Basketball Association (NBA) competition can recruit eligible players to their teams. Many of these players, still considered amateurs, come from university championships.
If chosen, Sílvio de Sousa joins Bruno Fernando, who at the age of 20 (2019) became the first Angolan to be chosen and to play in an NBA team. He currently plays for the Houston Rockets.
