The 23-year-old Angolan with 2.06 meters, who currently wears the Chattanooga Mocs jersey, shone in the final against Furman Paladins. In the match, Sílvio de Sousa hit a double-double with 17 points and 14 rebounds, having also reached the milestone of 70 percent in field throws and 60 percent in free throws, writes Jornal de Angola.

The final was only decided in the final seconds: the Chattanooga Mocs were losing, but with seconds to go, David Jean-Baptiste launched and scored in favor of the Chattanooga Mocs. The launch of Sílvio de Sousa's teammate ended up giving the victory to the Chattanooga Mocs, who won 64-63.

With this outcome, the Angolan team managed to secure a place in the national stage of the University League of the I Division of the NCAA.

According to Jornal de Angola, in August last year, Lamont Paris, coach of Chattanooga Mocs, praised the Angolan, after the athlete was announced as a reinforcement of the team.

"Sílvio de Sousa has a phenomenal combination of size, strength, explosiveness, athleticism and agility," he said.
