The Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs and Cooperation of Portugal, Francisco André, recalled, in Luanda, that the strategic program between both countries is valid until the end of 2022 and will be evaluated during this year.
"I have no doubt that the evaluation will be very positive, in the case of education I would even venture to say that it will be a very, very positive evaluation, and that also makes us sure that the next Strategic Cooperation Program will have once again education as the central area of work between the two countries", said the Portuguese official.
Speaking at the end of the signing ceremony of the protocol on the pilot project National Exams Angola 2022, Francisco André underlined that the education sector is a "very intense" area in cooperation between Portugal and Angola.
"The gains [from strategic cooperation] are permanent, and the case of education and health are two good examples, but the case of education is a good example of a permanent gain", he replied to Lusa.
The Portuguese Secretary of State began a visit to Angola on Friday and held meetings with the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Téte António, and with the Minister of State for Economic Coordination, Manuel Nunes Júnior.
According to Francisco André, the bilateral agenda and the international agenda guided the meeting with Téte António, when the Portuguese official thanked the minister for his support for holding, in Luanda, this Tuesday, a preparatory conference for the II Oceans Conference. of the United Nations.
"This conference will have a previous and very important moment, it will allow institutions, academia and all those interested and concerned with the protection of the oceans to be heard, which will take place on Tuesday morning here in Luanda", he noted.
"And we do it, because it is a country with which we have a very strong diplomatic and affective bond, a country concerned with the oceans and which shares with us this way of working together and committed within the scope of the United Nations system", he argued.
Lisbon will host, between June 27th and July 1st, 2022, the II United Nations Ocean Conference that will be co-organized between Portugal and Kenya.
With the Minister of State, Manuel Nunes Júnior, the Portuguese Secretary of State said that he had the opportunity to "review some of the topics on the economic cooperation agenda between the two countries".
"Identify challenges and joint ways for us to continue working and, above all, with a view to a future visit by the Minister of Economy and Sea of Portugal to Angola", he concluded.
