Speaking to Radio Luanda, Fernando Carvalho, a spokesman for the Criminal Investigation Service (SIC) in Luanda, said that the robbers, who reportedly had the help of an internal informant, an employee of the security company, broke down the doors of the warehouse and stole 671 50-kilogram bags of sugar, an air conditioner, seven laptops and 12 cell phones.
The security guards guarding the place, already in a drowsy state after being drugged, were gagged and beaten, three of them were found dead and one was seriously injured, remaining hospitalized.
Two other security guards who were at the scene are now out of danger and another guard, who belonged to the criminal network is on the run, Fernando Carvalho told the Lusa agency.
Following the investigations, the authorities managed to arrest six of the 11 elements of this criminal organization and are on the trail of the rest.
The six detainees, including two women, are between 30 and 47 years old and some had already been involved in crimes of aggravated robbery and theft.
The firearms used in the robbery, a vehicle that supported the criminals during these actions, an air conditioner, seven televisions and 90 bags of sugar were also seized during this action, according to the SIC official.
"SIC Luanda, within the scope of its investigative actions, will continue to make efforts to combat actions of this kind and all criminal actions that put human life at risk", underlined the same official.
In a statement released today, Angonabeiro deeply regretted the death of the security company's employees, offering its deepest condolences to their families, guaranteeing that it will continue to give them "all the necessary support", as well as the family of the other worker who continues to at the hospital.
The robbery took place in the early hours of May 15, but it was only disclosed this Tuesday by the company that wanted to give priority to the investigation and treated the matter "with the utmost discretion".
"Angonabeiro informs that, together with the security company, it has collaborated with the competent authorities, so that all circumstances related to the acts perpetrated are quickly investigated and awaits the conclusion of the investigation, so that all those responsible are found. , detained, tried and exemplarily punished, in accordance with the law in force", he adds, in the same statement.
