One of the tenders, launched by the Ministry of Industry and Commerce, concerns the purchase of 500 new vans for transporting goods. The other tender is for the purchase of fleet management services via GPS for the said 500 vehicles.
According to the Public Contracting Portal, the public tender for the purchase of the vehicles has a cost of 20 billion kwanzas while the tender for the GPS fleet management services is worth three billion kwanzas.
Both tenders are open until May 21. In a statement, cited by Jornal de Angola, the ministry's institutional communication and press office said that those interested in obtaining the vehicles should consult the Public Procurement Portal.
The ministry also made it known that the vehicles will be made available individually to each interested operator, through the Angolan Risk Capital Active Fund.
"The interested in tendering for access to the vans that will be made available by the Executive (individuals or cooperatives) will have a period of four years for the reimbursement of the acquisition value, through a monthly deposit of 200,000 kwanzas, with the proposals to be sent to the Provincial Offices for Integrated Economic Development (GPDEI)," the note said.
The Ministry also considers that these tenders will allow the delivery process of the vans to the transport operators to start in August.
The tenders are part of the Support Plan to the Rural Commerce Merchandise Transport Operators, which was authorized in the Presidential Decree n.º 19/21, of the 20th of January, aligned with the Integrated Program of Rural Commerce Development.
