As part of the bilateral partnership between the European Union and Angola, the FRESAN Program, whose public presentation took place last April at the Lubango Media Library, is financed with 65 million euros by the European Union since 2018 and until 2024.
This joint initiative with the Government of Angola aims to reduce hunger, poverty and the vulnerability of communities in the three provinces most affected by drought in the south of the country, says a statement sent to VerAngola.
"Each day we build what is the realization and implementation of the FRESAN Program. It is a learning process, which leads to this principle of joint construction", says Maria João Chipalavela, deputy governor of Huíla province for the political sector and social. "We need the program to be the step forward so that we can have greater resilience in our communities", underlines the official.
Manuela Navarro, head of the European Union Delegation in Angola, stressed that FRESAN "has to ensure sustainability and longevity", while giving "protagonism to non-governmental organizations, so that at the end of the program they ensure their sustainability".
