The nation's founder and first president was born on September 17, 1922. Thus, his 100th birthday will be marked next year.
According to a note of the President of the Republic's Civil House, cited by Angop, the Minister of State and Head of the President of the Republic's Civil House, who will be the coordinator, and the Minister of State and Head of the President of the Republic's Security House, who will be the deputy coordinator, will be in charge of the preparations for the event.
The coordinators of the commission will be joined by the ministers of Territorial Administration, National Defense and Homeland Veterans, of the Interior, and of Foreign Affairs, the note adds.
The ministers of Finance, Transport, Telecommunications, Education, Information Technology and Media, Youth and Sports and Culture, Tourism and Environment are also members of the commission.
The commission will also be integrated by the director of the Ceremonial of the President of the Republic, by the president of the Administration Council of the António Agostinho Neto Memorial, by a representative of the António Agostinho Foundation and by the provincial governors.
The commission will have the responsibility of elaborating a cronograma of allusive activities to the centésimo anniversary of Agostinho Neto, to present a budget for the commemorations and to organize and to guide the celebrations.
