Covid-19: Angola registers 283 more cases and four deaths

Angola registered in the last 24 hours more 283 cases of covid-19 and four deaths, as well as 12 people recovered, according to the epidemiological bulletin of the National Directorate of Public Health released this Sunday.

The infections were reported in Luanda (239), Cabinda (12), Kwanza Norte (11), Huambo (10), Huila (4), Uige (2), Zaire (2), Cunene (1), Malanje (1) and Lunda Sul (1) with ages between 3 and 78 years, being 154 males and 129 females.

In the same period, four deaths were reported (Angolans) between 43 and 89 years old, being two in Luanda, one in Huambo and one in Cunene, and 12 people between 20 and 60 years old recovered, in Luanda.

The laboratories processed 2484 samples by RT-PCR, out of a total of 540,918.

With the new data, Angola has 30.637 diagnosed cases, 25.715 of which recovered, 4263 active (21 critical and 42 serious) and 659 deaths.

A total of 296 patients are hospitalized and 48 people are in institutional quarantine.

The covid-19 pandemic has caused at least 3,371,695 deaths worldwide, resulting from more than 162.4 million cases of infection, according to an assessment made by the French agency AFP.

The disease is transmitted by a new coronavirus detected in late 2019 in Wuhan, a city in central China.
