Schools restart teaching activities between 13 and 27 July

The schools will restart teaching activities between 13 and 17 July, according to the rules of operation of public and private services that took effect as of this Tuesday, within the scope of the decreed state of calamity.

:

"We are going to make a path of preparation for the restart of the teaching activity, we do not have an immediate restart, but a preparatory process for that purpose", said the Minister of State and of the Civil House, Adão de Almeida, stressing that it will be necessary to guarantee a set of rules.

From the 13th of July there will be a restart of the teaching activity at the upper level and the 2nd cycle of secondary education and from the 27th of July the restart of the 1st cycle of secondary education and primary education.

Restarting the functioning of pre-school education is subject to its own regulations.

Educational establishments must guarantee the necessary conditions to maintain physical distance, at the entrance and inside the school building and hand hygiene at the entrance of school buildings and classrooms, with the use of a face mask by administrative personnel, teachers and students.

It will be mandatory to maintain a physical distance of two meters between administrative staff, teachers, students and others when accessing school buildings and during breaks.

Libraries, laboratories and computer rooms are expected to reduce the maximum capacity by 50 percent, among other rules.

The vocational training centers will reopen from May 26th with the obligation to comply with rules of biosafety and physical distance.
