The percentage balance of the effectiveness of virtual classes in higher education institutions, prepared by the Association of Students of Private Universities of Angola (AEUPA), says that six provinces are without virtual classes.
According to AEUPA, from the universe of the thirteen provinces that form the basis of the study, prepared in April, Uíje, Cuanza Sul, Malanje, Moxico, Cabinda and Bié are the provinces without virtual classes.
The provinces of Zaire, Cuando-Cubango and Lunda Sul, included in the sample, "are out of contact".
Angola has 65 higher education institutions, 55 of which are private, the majority of which, in other words, 34 are in Luanda.
According to the study, of the 34 private higher education institutions in the capital, 13 are teaching virtual classes, 15 are without classes and six are without contacts.
Among the six institutions in Benguela, four are without online classes, one has classes and one is without contact, and in Huíla province, three are teaching classes and two are not.
In Huambo province, three are without classes and two have classes in progress.
The Association of Students of Private Universities of Angola also adds that 72 percent of students attending higher education in the country are in the private sector.
Classes in higher education in the country, which are expected to last until January 2021, were suspended last March, before the declaration of a state of emergency aimed at containing the spread of the new coronavirus across the country.
