It's still unclear who abandoned the baby. However, according to Angop, the Criminal Investigation Service (SIC) is already looking for the perpetrators of the crime.
Faustino Minguês, a fireman's spokesman, revealed that the newborn baby is male and appears to be only two months old. He added that the baby was found by populars in the Palanca district around 6pm this Sunday.
The baby showed good signs of life when he was found, but needed to receive some care, completed the responsible.
For now the baby is in the care of the local health authorities.
This is the fourth case of newborn abandonment registered this year in the capital. The other most recent case occurred two months ago when a baby with only days old was found in a dumpster in the municipality of Belas.
