Angolans admit leaving home during state of emergency but only once or twice a week

In a survey conducted by MIRA - Research Angola, about 48 percent of Angolans interviewed admitted leaving their home between one and two times a week, despite a state of emergency in the country.

The survey was carried out by telephone in the fourth week of the state of emergency in the country. The research focuses on the behaviors and attitudes of the population over 15 years old in the provinces of Luanda, Benguela, Huambo and Huíla. 600 interviews were conducted, reveals a statement sent to VerAngola.

In this way, it is possible to perceive that about half of the respondents report having left home in the first four weeks of the quarantine only once or twice a week.

According to the questionnaire are the youngest (15-24 years old), the oldest (over 45 years old) and women who stayed at home the most.

Regarding gender, it is men - between 25 and 44 years old - who admitted to having left home more often.

In relation to income, more specifically to the gain of the household, 73 per cent of the respondents reported that they had suffered a drop taking into account the covid-19 pandemic installed in the country and in the world.
