The position was defended by the parliamentary group of the National Union for the Total Independence of Angola (UNITA), in a balance of the 60 days of state of emergency, fulfilled in the scope of the pandemic caused by the new coronavirus.

The fear is related to the consequences of agglomerations, if there are no conditions for biosafety, proposing, therefore, that the academic year be resumed in September, believing that until then there will be greater control and response capacity.

The political organization continues to advocate that mass testing to control the spread and combat of covid-19 is the safest route to be followed by the executive, in addition to biosecurity protection measures.

The academic year in Angola was interrupted with the declaration of a state of emergency, on March 27, within the scope of the measures to prevent and combat covid-19, which has already caused 73 positive cases of infection, of which four were killed and 18 recovered.

With the declaration of public calamity, the executive programmed the resumption of classes for high school and higher education, on July 13th, while primary school resumes on the 27th of the same month.

Still in the area of health, the UNITA parliamentary group advocates strengthening the health system with financial, human and material resources, to face the current health emergency of covid-19 and maintain continuous support for endemic diseases, such as malaria, respiratory diseases. , cardiovascular, diarrhea, diabetes, HIV / AIDS, tuberculosis and others.

The experience and cooperation of Cuban doctors is recognized by political training, which recommends, however, that a policy of valuing and integrating Angolan professionals in the sector be put in place so that inequalities in treatment, with regard to incentives and the wage framework , do not endanger their overall performance.

The UNITA parliamentary group calls on the authorities to continue to raise awareness of the population about the precautions to be taken in preventing covid-19, because many citizens "are interpreting" the moment of public calamity "as being free to return to old habits ", without wearing protective masks.

With regard to the economic situation, the parliamentary group of the country's second political force believes that it is necessary to provide sufficient public resources to meet the needs of citizens, as well as to promote the efficient, effective and economic use of the resources available in the economy and to distribute equally for all citizens.

Ensuring the country's macroeconomic stability, controlling inflation, the exchange rate and public debt, are functions, according to the UNITA parliamentary group, that should not be jeopardized by any state of emergency or public calamity situation.

"It is also necessary to create an agenda that facilitates a model of economic growth more focused on the private sector and for the creation of a more favorable business environment. This agenda involves immediate, transparent and monitored support for micro, small and medium-sized companies. companies ", underlines UNITA.
