According to a spokesman for the local SIC, Anderson Domingos, the 58-year-old woman drove a car from the municipality of Rivungo, which borders Zambia.

Anderson Domingos, quoted this Monday by the agency Angop, said that the meat of various types of animals, was destined for the province of Uíje, where it would be marketed.

According to the trader, the meat was purchased from poachers in Licua, municipality of Rivungo, worth 750 thousand kwanzas, admitting that this is the third time he made this type of business.

"The game meat was to sell, since I always sold in the informal market of Tchivonde," said the woman, justifying that with this business supports the family and supports the training of children.

The SIC spokesman stressed that this is the second apprehension made in three years in Cuando Cubango province, which has been greatly affected by the poaching phenomenon.

Angola has 30 species threatened with extinction mainly due to the effects of poaching, among mammals, birds, reptiles and fish, but authorities are facing the phenomenon, which affects the entire country, especially the northern and eastern provinces, due to historical factors, cultural and lack of enforcement.
