In his usual assessment of the epidemiological situation of covid-19 and the state of emergency, Valdemar José said that in the last 24 hours there has been a high flow of movement of citizens, recalling that the health fence was raised at provincial level, but for commercial matters, "not for leisure, nor to visit the family".
He also criticized "those who should serve as an example to society" and did not do so and warned that the police will make available the identification of citizens who fail to comply.
"Today [Thursday] even entities of the state apparatus, some until they have already directed certain ministries, which by their magnitude should serve as an example to other citizens" tried to violate the health fence of Luanda, including the judge of the district of Namibe, Januário Catengo, who was trying to leave Luanda in a truck to transport goods and "was detained and forced to return home.
Also the former Minister of State and Chief of Staff, Frederico Cardoso, was detected trying to leave Luanda, said the head of MININT, asking citizens not to adopt these measures because "the law is to apply to everyone, without exception.
"All those who break the law in the coming days, regardless of their quality, position or status, the law will be applied. The sub-commissioner warned, "Stay here alert".
Among the police's concerns was the high number of false credentials to justify the need to leave home and the high movement on the border with Bengo province.
"It's chaos," he said, saying that citizens present the most varied excuses for trying to cross, including farm work.
Valdemar José also warned of the "authentic danger" of exchanging masks, which has been identified in collective taxis, where access is only allowed with this means of protection.
On Thursday 18 citizens were tried for disobedience in Luanda, with a penalty converted into a fine and 3090 litres of gasoline were seized that would be smuggled.
Valdemar José said that the more rigorous action taken by the police in the face of non-compliance led to the arrest of 526 citizens, 419 more arrests than the previous day, 212 of them for border violation and 314 for disobedience.
In addition "almost doubled the seizure of vehicles", with 243 collective taxis seized, many of them for overcrowding and 105 motorcycles seized for motorcycle taxiing, prohibited during the state of emergency.
