Angola starts losing in the CAN under-17

The under-17 national team debuted with a defeat in the African Nations Championship (CAN) of the sport. The ‘Palanquinhas’ faced their counterparts from Mali this Tuesday, having lost by two goals to one.

In the game, for the first round of group D and which took place in Morocco, the score was opened by Mali, with Ndjicoura Bomba scoring in the 11th minute.

In stoppage time, before the half-time whistle, Angola managed to reduce the deficit: Jayden Puna scored Angola's first and only goal in the match (45+3').

The game went into half-time tied at 1-1.

In the second half, Mali regained the advantage, after Soungalo Coulibaly scored the second goal for the Malian team in the 74th minute.

Thus, the game came to an end with Mali winning 2-1.

After this defeat, Angola will return to the scene next Friday to face Ivory Coast. The third and final game of the 'Palanquinhas' is scheduled for April 7, against the Central African Republic.

Angola currently has zero points and is in third place in the group D table, which is led by Ivory Coast (three points), followed by Mali (three points). In last place is the Central African Republic, also with zero points.
