The bus, coming from Luanda, was heading to the municipality of Quimbele, and the accident occurred in the locality of Kimalalo, according to Angop.
At the scene, six people lost their lives and two others died at the Quimbele Municipal Hospital, and the eight seriously injured were transferred to the Uíje General Hospital.
The bus they were on fell into a large ravine in that location, which had seen considerable progress due to constant rain in the region.
In the country, traffic accidents are the second leading cause of death, after malaria, with 2024 recording a total of 3,120 deaths and 16,282 injuries, as a result of 12,303 accidents, according to official data.
