Portuguese group to invest 15 million in acquiring equipment for projects in Angola

The Portuguese group MCA has signed a contract, worth approximately 15 million euros, with the British company Dints International, which aims to acquire equipment for infrastructure projects and renewable energy operations in Angola.

:

"MCA has just closed a contract, worth 12.5 million pounds/around 15 million euros, with the British company Dints International with the aim of acquiring equipment for infrastructure projects and renewable energy operations in Angola. The transaction was guaranteed by a loan from UK Export Finance (UKEF), the British government's export credit agency", revealed the group, in a statement sent to VerAngola.

"At MCA, we recognise the key role that strategic partnerships play in promoting sustainable development. As we continue to expand our operations, it is clear that collaboration with financial institutions such as UK Export Finance and trusted suppliers such as Dints is essential to achieving our goals of actively supporting Angola's energy transition and transforming the lives of local people through improved access to infrastructure," said Manuel Couto Alves, founder and chairman of MCA.

In turn, the CEO of the British company said it was a "pleasure to work with MCA on this transaction".

"It has been a pleasure working with MCA on this transaction. By bringing together UK and international suppliers with the support of UKEF, AF Capital and Apple Bank, suppliers are paid as if they were selling to their home markets, whilst unlocking global opportunities. This approach makes UK exports more affordable, facilitates crucial infrastructure and renewable energy projects, and demonstrates the value of a coordinated and transparent export model in promoting sustainable development," said Geoffrey de Mowbray, CEO of Dints.

"By providing a loan guarantee to Dints' overseas client, we are not only securing a substantial export opportunity for UK suppliers, but also helping to transform lives in Angola through improved access to essential infrastructure and renewable electricity. This is exactly the kind of outcome we strive to achieve at UK Export Finance," explained Tim Reid, CEO of UK Export Finance.

According to the statement, Dints International will provide "vehicles, equipment and machinery that will support the Portuguese group, in Angola, in projects that include the construction of infrastructures that will be responsible for connecting distant locations and will contribute to the definition of a new urban order".
