Of the 337 cases of cholera, 132 were reported in Benguela province, followed by Cuanza Sul (70), Luanda (50), Malanje (41), Cuanza Norte (19), Huíla (9), Bengo (6), Namibe (5), Icolo and Bengo (4) and Huambo (1).

During this period, seven people died and another 638 were hospitalized with cholera.

Since the start of the outbreak, a cumulative total of 16,719 cases and 558 deaths have been reported.

The disease is associated with poor hygiene conditions, poor sanitation and limited access to drinking water. In addition, heavy rainfall and flooding in affected areas contaminate drinking water sources and accelerate the transmission of cholera, especially in densely populated areas.

Cholera is an acute infectious disease caused by the bacterium 'vibrio cholerae', which causes severe diarrhea and vomiting, and can quickly lead to severe dehydration and death if not treated in time.
