According to the official, approximately 8000 people visited the fair, which took place in the province of Malanje until this Sunday.
In statements at the closing of the event, cited by Angop, Carlos Calas made it known that the fair created 80 direct jobs and 135 indirect jobs, the numbers of which are in line with expectations. In this sense, he expressed the company's willingness to continue cooperating with the government in implementing initiatives of this nature, as they help national economic growth.
In turn, Franco Mufinda, deputy governor of Malanje for the Political, Economic and Social sector, said that the numbers achieved reflect an acceptable sign of the diversification of the economy that is desired in Angola.
Furthermore, the person in charge highlighted that industry and agriculture are areas highlighted in the event and that they contribute to the realization of the Program to Combat Poverty, having launched a challenge to exhibitors to play the role of economic boosters, as well as to participate in future editions of this fair, writes Angop.
This was the first edition of the fair and had 205 exhibitors from sectors such as agro-industry and the sale of machinery and equipment from the provinces of Malanje, Luanda, Huambo, Benguela, Cabinda, Uíge and Cuanza Norte. The event – which took place as part of the celebrations of 22 years of peace and national reconciliation, which took place last week – aimed to publicize the agricultural, tourist and economic potential of these provinces, establish partnerships, among others.
