Despite the defeat, Marcos Antunes guided Angola to an unprecedented second place in the African competition, being its best participation ever, after third place achieved in 2020.

With the title of African runner-up, Angola guaranteed its presence in the 10th edition of the Futsal World Championship, which will be played from September 14th to October 6th in Uzbekistan, after its fourth participation in the African competition.

At the end of the game, the coach regretted the failure to win the title.

"We are very sorry for not being able to win the title. I think these heroes deserve to be welcomed at the airport like the great champions they are", he defended.

Marco Antunes surrendered, on the other hand, to the defensive and offensive qualities demonstrated by the Moroccans.

"As for the game, Morocco is an excellent team and we tried to balance it with our weapons. It wasn't possible, Morocco was strong, we weren't so good - we were a bit tired, but we gave an excellent response. We are African runners-up, which is a source of pride for us," he said.

Still on Sunday afternoon, Libya took third place, and also secured qualification for the World Championship, after a 4-1 victory over Egypt on penalties, as a result of a 1-1 draw in regulation time.
