Grupo Carrinho in the spotlight on Sirius with João Lourenço in the audience

Grupo Carrinho won two of the seven categories of the 10th edition of the Sirius Awards, whose gala took place this Thursday, in Luanda, and where the President of the Republic, João Lourenço, was present as guest of honor. The categories won by Grupo Carrinho were ‘Social Responsibility’ and ‘Manager of the Year’.

In the race for the 'Social Responsibility' award, in addition to Carrinho, there were Azule Energy, Catoca, Omatapalo and Sonangol. In the 'Manager of the Year' category, David Maciel, president of the Executive Board of Carrinho, surpassed competitors Luís Lélis, president of the BAI Executive Committee, and Hélder Araújo, general director of Casais.

At the ceremony, according to a note from Deloitte, to which VerAngola had access, BAI was also distinguished, which won the 'Company of the Year in the Financial Sector' award, as well as Sonangol, which won the 'Company of the Year in the Non-Financial Sector' award.

The category of 'Digital/Technological Development Program' was assigned to BNA/LISPA.

Among the gala's winners, Narisrec ('Entrepreneurship' award) and Casais ('Human Capital Development Program' award) also stand out.

In addition to the seven categories, the 'Special Prize' was also awarded, won by professor Teresa Matoso Manguagua Victor.

At the gala, honorable mentions in the 'Social Responsibility Award' category were also awarded to Azule Energy, Catoca, Omatapalo and Sonangol.

At the ceremony, the First Lady of the Republic and also president of the awards jury, Ana Dias Lourenço, highlighted that the "mission of the jury was, once again, an enormous challenge due to the quality and impact of this edition's projects".

"Participating in the Sirius Awards means not only recognizing present excellence, but also resilience, the ability to persist and operate fully, contributing to the dynamism of the national economy, the creation of wealth, jobs and socioeconomic well-being. That's why, that this is a remarkable night in rewarding the country's organizations and leaders", she added.

On the occasion, Ana Dias Lourenço also took the opportunity to appeal to the country's companies to reinforce their focus on the performance of good practices and the best models of organization and management, aiming to accelerate national socioeconomic development, writes Angop.

José António Barata, president of Deloitte Angola, said they reiterated their mission and commitment to "serve as a continuous incentive for national organizations" to aspire to adopt best management practices.

"Today we reiterate our mission and our commitment to serve as a continuous incentive for national organizations and their leaders to increasingly aspire to adopt the best management practices, achieve better results, continually qualify their human resources, innovate and strengthen the creativity and resilience necessary to face the future and daily challenges. This moment is crucial for the dynamics and affirmation of the national economy, in a context in which Angola stands out as one of the most relevant and stable countries in Southern Africa", he said, mentioned in the Deloitte note.

David Maciel, from Carrinho, cited by Angop, pointed out that the two awards collected end up recognizing the work that the company has been developing, aiming to contribute to the country achieving food self-sufficiency by 2030.

It should be noted that the Sirius Awards aim to "distinguish good business management practices and projects with an impact on economic and social development, promoted with the technical support of Deloitte".
