According to a note from the press secretary of the Presidency of the Republic, the head of State dismissed Evaristo José Solano from the position of Secretary of State for Justice, appointing Osvaldo Benza Amaro to the role.

João Lourenço also appointed Fernando Manuel to the position of Secretary of State for Local Authorities, replacing Márcio Daniel, recently appointed Minister of Tourism.

The President also dismissed Maria de Lima Viegas from the position of secretary of the President of the Republic for Social Affairs and appointed Marinela Gambôa Laureano to replace her.

These changes come after, last Thursday, the President appointed Márcio Daniel to the position of Minister of Tourism, a newly created ministerial department, after being separated from the Culture portfolio.

Márcio Daniel was the Secretary of State for Local Authorities.

The Council of Ministers decided on Wednesday to separate the areas that made up the then Ministry of Culture and Tourism, giving rise to two distinct ministerial departments.
