Angotic 2023 arrives in June with forecast of around 150 exhibitors

The Angotic 2023 (International Forum of Information and Communication Technologies of Angola) is scheduled to return to June, where around 150 exhibitors are expected to participate, said Cláudio Rafael, member of the organization.

According to the official, at the event, companies will have the opportunity to expose their potential, among other projects, to more than 8000 visitors. "The event represents visibility, interaction between the regulator, investors and an opportunity to present the potential of national companies", he said, quoted by Angop, also informing that entry to the visits should cost a minimum price of 2000 kwanzas for students.

The launch of Angotic 2023 took place this Wednesday, in a ceremony that was attended by Mário Oliveira, Minister of Telecommunications, Information Technologies and Social Communication.

Speaking at the opening, the minister said that the event is committed to being "a reference African technology event", despite the "geopolitical and economic challenges that the world faces". "Angotic 2023 promises, despite the geopolitical and economic challenges facing the world, to be a reference African technology event combining the unrivaled content of a forum with great exposure, as well as networking opportunities", he said.

Mário Oliveira also said that the event will "bring together national and foreign individuals from various sectors and strata, public and private sector leaders, industry players, emerging and fixed mobile service providers, specialists and industry representatives from the entire technology ecosystem of information and national and international communication in the approach of relevant themes of the present time".

On the occasion, the government official added that "with the exhibition, of an international nature, companies and organizations will have the opportunity to exhibit innovative products, technologies and applications, showing new products developed by information technology companies, which allow to improve management, improve the quality of products and services, increase productivity, build loyalty and facilitate decision-making".

He also referred to networking, stating that "established technology service providers, public and private sector decision makers, business information technology integrators and users, as well as disruptive start-ups with unique solutions, come together to create important networks and build valuable partnerships".

Thus, he continued, the event will serve "as a catalyst for collaboration and competition between foreign and local technology companies and a multitude of partners in the ecosystem of information and communication technologies".

He also said to take advantage of Angotic 2023 in order to reflect on "the potential and development of information and communication technologies for new business solutions, to give visibility to the skills of the national and international market, with important reflections in the generation of jobs , income and quality of life" of citizens.

In his speech, he also stressed that the goal is to provide the "indispensable contribution to the diversification" of the economy and to the transformation of the country into an "inescapable hub for communications to and from Africa in the context of the African continental free trade zone".

Among other aspects, he also launched a challenge: "We also want to launch a challenge to everyone in the sense of contributing their creativity to link this event, eminently technological, with the tourist potential that Luanda and surroundings present".

"In line with the best practices to support the costs of an undertaking of this magnitude, we will establish several levels of partnerships allowing the possibility of special attention and differentiated benefits to our regular partners and to the new ones, depending on their level of engagement", he added.

The holder of the Telecommunications, Information Technologies and Social Communication portfolio also referred that, according to pre-defined criteria, they will also establish "partnerships with start-ups representing the highly dynamic Angolan youth entrepreneurship ecosystem, with an international award for degree of innovation and impact on the economy".

The third edition of the forum, which returns after two years suspended due to the pandemic, will take place between the 12th and 14th of June, at the Talatona Convention Center and will have as its motto "Connectivity and Technological Modernization".
