Petro de Luanda loses with 1.º de Agosto and misses out on Girabola’s leadership

Petro de Luanda was defeated this Sunday by 1.º de Agosto, by 2-1, and lost the leadership of the national football championship, in a game of the 25th round, five games from the end of the championship.

The goals were scored by Keliano, in the 14th minute, César Kangue, in the 75th minute, while Soares, in the 40th minute, reduced for the national champions.

1.º de Agosto is now the new leader of the Angolan football league, with 54 points, one more than Petro de Luanda, who still have two Girabola games to play.

On the same afternoon, Interclube, led by Luís Gonçalves, and Desportivo da Huila, trained by Paulo Torres, tied 0-0, in a duel between Portuguese coaches.

Académica do Lobito beat Sporting de Benguela by 3-1, with goals from Sequesseque, in the 49th minute, Kaporal, in the 54th minute, and Márcio Luvambo, in the 69th minute, with Valente, with an own goal, reducing the score.

Bravos do Maquis beat Desportivo da Lunda Sul by 3-1, after goals from Jorginho, at 51, 54 and 79, while Mussá, at 90+4 softened the defeat.

Wiliete de Benguela beat Recreativo do Libolo by 3-1, with goals from Felipe, at 48 minutes, Apado, minutes later, and Naigel, at 90+4, with Caneta, at 18, reducing.

Isaac de Benguela beat Santa Rita de Cássia by 2-0, after goals by João Vala, in the 60th minute, and Quinho, in the 64th minute.

The match between Sagrada Esperança and Sporting de Cabinda has been postponed to this Monday.

Brazilian striker Tiago Azulão leads the list of top scorers in the national football championship, with 19 goals, followed by Kaporal (Académica do Lobito), with 14, Dago (1.º de Agosto), with nine, and Julinho (Interclube), with eight.
