Adalberto da Costa Júnior, was speaking on Tuesday night in Lopitanga (municipality of Andulo), in Bié, reacting before militants of the National Union for the Total Independence of Angola (UNITA) to the decision of President João Lourenço to nominate Pitta Gróz for a new five-year term.

João Lourenço received, on Monday, the three most voted names by the Electoral Commission of the Superior Council of the Magistracy of the Public Prosecutor's Office, with prosecutor Inocência Pinto being the magistrates' favorite (11 votes), while Hélder Pitta Gróz and deputy prosecutor Mouta Liz tied with ten votes.

"He is a nice and polite person, but our reading is that he did not fulfill his previous mandate well and, when they are not fulfilled well, mandates are not renewed [to people] who have not fulfilled their mission to defend the Republic, defend the Angolans, defend the laws, defend the State", criticized Adalberto da Costa Júnior.

The UNITA president said that the Attorney General's Office (PGR) "has been a cane of the political power that governs the country" and criticized the silence in the face of what he called violations of the rights of civic activists, discrimination against militants from other parties, lack of plurality and persecution of the leaders of other parties.

"What did the PGR do in the face of the demonization of opponents?", he questioned.

"Nothing," the militants replied.

The UNITA leader considered that Pitta Gróz is being reappointed because he "fulfilled the program of those who govern and those who want to keep the party program above the national interest" and demanded an independent justice.

"We do not want a party justice that does not fulfill its role, that does not protect the citizen, that behaves in a cowardly way, that receives political orders. This justice does not serve Angola", he shot, appealing to Pitta Gróz to "improve his work, obey the laws and don't remain in the cowardly silence of political orders".

The UNITA leader traveled to Bié as part of the funeral ceremonies for Araújo Kacyke Pena, nephew of Jonas Savimbi, who he described as "a son of a family that has many martyrs dedicated to this country and the party".

It is also in Lopitanga that the founder of the "Galo Negro" party, Jonas Savimbi, was buried, whose remains were transferred to his homeland after being killed in combat in Luena (Moxico), on February 22, 2002.
