The Government informs, in a statement to which VerAngola had access, that 1500 social houses will be built. "1,500 social housing will be built to rehouse families in situations of social vulnerability, very precarious conditions, imminent risk of outbreaks, endemic diseases of all kinds, subject to the most diverse weather conditions in tents and sheet metal houses between Zango 3 and Zango 5", reads the note.
Regarding the amount of the expenditure, the government advances that it is estimated at more than 75 million dollars.
"The expense for the construction of these houses was authorized by the President of the Republic, João Lourenço, in the global amount, in kwanzas, equivalent to seventy-five million, seven hundred and nine thousand, five hundred and fifty-five dollars and eighty cents [75,709,555.80 dollars]", adds the statement.
The contract for the preparation of the project and coordination of the contract is in the global value, in kwanzas, equivalent to 2,454,686.85 dollars (two million, four hundred and fifty-four thousand, six hundred and eighty-six dollars and eighty-five cents).
In terms of the works inspection contract, the note states that "the Executive will spend a global amount, in kwanzas, equivalent to one million, seven hundred and fifty-three thousand, three hundred and forty-seven dollars and seventy-five cents [1,753,347.75 dollars]".
According to the statement, competence was delegated to the Minister of Public Works, Urbanism and Housing, with the capacity to sub-delegate, "for the approval of the parts of the emergency contracting procedure based on material criteria, as well as for the verification of the validity and legality of all the acts performed".
The Minister of Finance is responsible for guaranteeing the financial resources "necessary for the implementation of contracts", as well as "the registration of projects in the Public Investment Programme".
