Germany strengthens collaboration with Angola

The German ambassador accredited to Angola, Stefan Traumann, met with the president of the National Assembly, Carolina Cerqueira, in an audience that took place this Monday, at the National Assembly Palace, with a view to strengthening collaboration between Angola and Germany.

On the occasion, according to a communiqué from the parliament to which VerAngola had access, the ambassador said that Germany wants to continue "this important cooperation", since the parliaments are the representation of the populations.

Furthermore, the diplomat also highlighted the existence of several projects in the pipeline - "with great potential" - mainly in the field of building energy and renewable infrastructures, such as the Caculo Cabaça hydroelectric power station, "with the participation of a German company, Voith", as well as in the field of green hydrogen production, in collaboration with Sonangol and other German companies, the note also mentions.

Cited in the statement, Stefan Traumann stressed that they have projects in agribusiness, financed by Deutsche Bank, in the health sector and construction of hospital units: "We have projects in agribusiness, financed by Deutsche Bank, in the area of health and construction of hospitals. that human capital should have the same importance and we should reinforce educational exchange, but also professional training. We can and need to do more", he said.

The official also underlined the role of Angola "in the resolution of the conflict that the Democratic Republic of Congo and Rwanda support", having also demonstrated the "availability" of the German government "to support in this sense, as well as supporting the process of empowerment of the gender".

The ambassador also took the opportunity to inform that the parliament of that European country will be represented "by a large delegation at the 147th General Assembly of the Union of the IPU", which Angola will host in October.
