João Lourenço and the President of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), Félix Antoine Tshisekedi Tshilombo, "spoke specifically about the cantonment of the M23 forces, according to the understandings reached within the framework of the mediation exercised by the President of the Republic of Angola", he advanced the official page of the Presidency of the Republic.
It is recalled that the head of the Angolan Executive President at the time of the International Conference on the Great Lakes Region (CIRGL), being the African Union (AU) mediator for the crisis experienced between Rwanda and the DRC.
The National Assembly recently approved the deployment of a unit from the Support Contingent for Peacekeeping Operations of the Angolan Armed Forces (FAA), within the framework of the peace and security process in the neighboring Democratic Republic of Congo.

Also this Thursday, the head of state received a message from his counterpart from the Union of Comoros and acting President of the African Union, Azali Assoumani.
According to the Presidency, the Minister of Defense of the Union of the Comoros, Youssoufa Mohamed Ali, who traveled to Luanda for that purpose, carried the letter.
The message, as he explained to journalists, addresses aspects linked to the contribution of President João Lourenço in the efforts to pacify the Great Lakes region, in particular, and in the African continent, in general.
The letter also mentions the interest in strengthening bilateral relations between Angola and the Comoros, according to the special envoy received in Cidade Alta.
