National delegation led by Minister of Finance at Spring Meetings

The Minister of Finance leads the Angolan delegation that is taking part, in Washington, United States of America, in the Bretton Woods Spring Meetings - International Monetary Fund (IMF) and World Bank Group (GBM).

Vera Daves de Sousa, according to a press release from the Ministry of Finance, is due to intervene in the non-deal readshow with investors from the international financial markets and in workshops, with emphasis also being given, on Thursday, on an intervention on "False dichotomy between public and more effective spending".

The Minister of Economy and Planning, Mário Caetano João, will hold meetings with the GBM vice-president for Human Development and participate in a ministerial conclave on Human Capital, among others.

The governor of the National Bank of Angola, José de Lima Massano, will also participate in the G20 forum, with the Director General of the IMF, as well as in the annual meeting of the Bretton Woods Committee, in addition to the statutory and other bilateral meetings in which he will take also seat.

According to the note from the Ministry of Finance, the spring meetings will take place from the 10th to the 16th of April, with statutory meetings planned, meetings with international banks (Standard Chartered and HSBC), bilateral meetings and other events (seminars, workshops, forums), in addition to approaches with the international media and credit rating agencies.
