"This Sunday (16/04/2023), in Dundo, the official delivery of the collection of documentary and photographic assets with historical records of the province of Lunda Norte, to the governor, Deolinda Satula Vilarinho", says a note from the Provincial Government of Lunda North, to which VerAngola had access.

The act of delivery, the statement said, "was carried out by the 'Vicente' couple, born in Dundo and children of former expatriate workers from the former Diamang – now Endiama –, who returned to the province 49 years later".

On the occasion, the governor thanked the efforts made by the couple, having recognized that "the delivery of the documentary collection to the Museum of Dundo enriches the local history".

He also took the opportunity "to encourage" all citizens, who are natives of the said province and who currently live in other parts of the world, to visit the "province that saw them born, and each one to see the contribution that he can make for the good of the urbe", reads the note.

According to Angop, among the donated documents there was also a pen-drive with films and recordings of Tchokwe folklore, recorded at parties in the 70s and 80s.

According to Ilunga André, director of the museum, quoted by Angop, the books and photographs will be placed in the library and in the photo library, with a view to enabling young people, researchers and academics to gain access to the files.

On the occasion, the official also made it known that the museum's management, in conjunction with the Ministry of Culture, is working with Interpol, in order to recover the items stolen during the armed conflict, writes Angop.

In this sense, although he did not specify numbers, he announced the recovery of some parts. However, quoted by Angop, the official explained that among Interpol's demands is, first, the creation of security and storage conditions for them to arrive in the country without being diverted again, and added that the guardianship and the local government are taking steps to ensure safety and storage conditions at the museum.
