The program – called BP/Chevening and which is co-funded by the UK Department for Foreign Affairs (FCDO) – aims to "promote leaders capable of positively exerting their influence in communities within an international and multicultural context".

In addition, it also intends to provide financial support to candidates with "excellent academic results, with recognized leadership potential, and with guaranteed access to any UK university, as well as the opportunity to integrate into a global network of contacts associated with the program Chevening".

The signing of the agreement, which took place at the United Kingdom Embassy, was attended by Ambassador Roger Sringer Marshall, the Executive Director of ANPG, César Paxi, the Senior Vice President of BP, Hélder Silva, and the General Director of the Academy BAI, who was invited to speak about leadership and its importance for organizations.

The note states that the document's signatories "were unanimous in affirming its importance for the development of local competences".

On the occasion, the United Kingdom's ambassador to Angola underlined his country's commitment to supporting projects aimed at the development of young Angolan professionals, "this being one of the maximum exponents of all the work that has been done in recent years".

In turn, César Paxi said that having "Angolan professionals increasingly qualified and with leadership skills in different areas of activity is something very important and representative for the future development of our oil sector. As a concessionaire, we are pleased with the existence of this agreement and we will do everything in our power to fully achieve the proposed objectives".

Hélder Silva, on the other hand, took the opportunity to mention that the results of previous editions "augur a good future for this extension, as the young people who have participated in the Chevening Program demonstrate that they make the most of the lessons received and are able to increase their network of contacts and actively contribute to the improvement of work in the organizations in which they belong".

In addition to signing the agreement, the promoters also took the opportunity to congratulate the students who participated in the previous edition of the program.
