"We produced 42 million books", said the official, adding that around 16 million had already been distributed to various schools to simplify the delivery of copies to students in September.
The minister, who was speaking at the end of a visit to the process of formalization and literacy of sellers at the Catinton market, thus dismissed the idea that the sector did not produce materials: "This year it was not produced, it is not strictly so, we produced materials yes," he said quoted by RNA.
He also clarified that "2020 and 2021 were atypical years" and "as soon as we ended the school year the new materials that were produced", through a presidential decree aimed at "improving the quality of materials, it was possible to distribute".
"We are already distributing the materials, the provinces are already receiving them so that in September each student can benefit from the manuals", she added, quoted by RNA.
The official took the opportunity to mention that her authority, together with the Ministry of Economy and Planning, are carrying out knowledge initiatives and youth and adult education programs for market vendors, with the aim of facilitating the formalization and sustainable business progression.
